The OptiChicks Open Girls Coaching Clinic is a one-day performance and wellbeing program designed exclusively for female Optimist sailors from NSW (Open Fleet). This invite-only clinic provides a safe, supportive environment where young athletes can sharpen their technical skills on the water while also learning vital off-water strategies around nutrition, strength and conditioning, and mindset.

Led by Australian Sailing coach Mina Ferguson, alongside sport professionals in dietetics, psychology, and strength & conditioning, the day blends on-water coaching with expert off-water workshops tailored to the needs of female sailors. Supported by an Australian Sailing – Sail Our Way grant, the event is designed to build confidence, connection, and performance for the next generation of female Opti sailors.

The coaching is regular, with extended personal commitment, plus commitment to club and class association racing or competition.
