Rose Bay, Sydney – June 2026 The 2026 East Coast Championships concluded in spectacular fashion over the King's Birthday Long Weekend, with 156 boats, more than 30 support RIBs and hundreds of sailors, coaches, officials and families converging on Sydney Harbour for one of Australia's largest youth sailing regattas.

Team NSW selection protocol for the Australian Optimist Team Racing Championship 2026

29 November 2025 Hosted by NSW International Optimist Dinghy Association Supported by Australian Sailing’s Sail Our Way Grant Held at Hunters Hill Sailing Club Nine Open Fleet girls joined us for the first-ever Sail Our Way – NSW Open Fleet Girls Coaching Clinic. The day was designed to support the whole athlete — strengthening body, mind, confidence, and on-water performance — and to encourage girls to get involved, lead, and thrive in sailing.

Funding Available for NSW Opti Sailors – Nationals Hobart 2026 Are you (or your child) aged 12–18 and competing in the Optimist National Championships in Hobart this January? You may be eligible for the Local Sporting Champions Grant through the Australian Sports Commission.

On the weekend HHSC hosted OptiChicks , and what an incredible success it was! More than 40 girls took to the water, mentored and inspired by some of Australia’s brightest young sailors.

The NSWIODA Annual General Meeting will be held at Hunter's Hill Sailing Club at 10am on Sunday 31 August.
